Wrightsville SUP: A Lesson in Stand Up Paddleboarding

Stand up paddle has emerged and quickly become one of the fastest growing water sports. With this has come a major flood of new paddlers with little to no water knowledge or experience. Its largely been up willing friends and nearby paddlers that have been able to offer quick tips & advice.

Chris Curry, Wrightsville SUP owner & SUP director, decided to take a leap forward in a tough economic time to create a business based on a passion for the sport of SUP and designed solely for those new. Combined with his competitive drive as both an accomplished SUP & surfing athlete along years of acquired knowledge & experience in surfing, he launched Wrightsville SUP in early February 2010. Everything from entry level lessons to advanced SUP surfing excursions have been offered for Wrightsville SUP customers and the list of options continues to grow.
